Why do gyms require you to scan your card when you go there?

This didnt ever come to me until I went today. What is the purpose of them scanning your card?

How can I get pictures off a memory card to my laptop?

So, my friend lost her USB cord to her camera to upload photos off of it to her computer. she asked me to take it home and get the photos uploaded by putting in the memory card into the laptop, and I followed these steps: went to the start menu, went to control panel, went to scanners and cameras, went to add device, and opened up the installation wizard, but now I'm stuck! It asks me to select a manufacturer and model of the device or if I have an installation disk, click the have disk thing. So help a ***** out.!

Go to Start>My Computer
See if it shows up as a disk drive on your computer. if it does, click on down through the folders and see if you can see the pictures. Copy them over to your (my documents>pictures>new folder)

If that doesn't work, you need to find the manufacturer and model number of the camera, go to the manufacturer's website and dowload the drivers for their camera.

The easiest thing to do is to get a memory card reader at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Office Depot, etc. It should cost about $10 and you will never have to worry about a USB connection to any other camera again.

Well, if it asks you for the disk, then why don't you put it into the computer? That should solve your problem.

If she doesn't have the software disk that came with the camera (or if you don't want to install it onto your computer), then just let her borrow your USB cord. Unless you want to buy a card reader (I'm assuming you don't, though).
