Kodak ESP 9250 Review

The Kodak ESP 9250 inkjet all-in-one printer is the big brother of the ESP 7250. It adds an automatic document feeder and fax support, so it’s more suitable for use in a home office. as with most of Kodak’s printers, it’s more expensive initially than equivalent rival machines, costing around £180, but it’s cheaper to run than most of the competition.

Visually, the 9250 is very similar to the 7250. Essentially, it looks like a large box that has curved sides and a large mouth in the middle where the printed sheets are feed out onto a telescopic tray. above the mouth sits the flip-out control panel that houses a 2.4-inch screen, along with dedicated buttons for the various printing, scanning, copying and faxing functions. There’s also a numerical keypad for dialling fax numbers.

The front is home to two memory-card slots. the first takes care of xD, SD and Memory Stick cards, while the second accommodates CompactFlash cards. Beneath these, there’s a PictBridge-compatible USB port that lets you use the printer to grab photos directly from compatible cameras or USB drives.

Kodak has added an automatic document feeder to the top of the flatbed scanner. It accepts documents of up to 30 sheets, and allows you to automatically copy or fax multi-page documents, without having to manually place each sheet on the scanner’s glass surface — a great time-saver when you’re using the 9250 in a home office.

The main paper tray at the bottom holds up to 100 sheets of paper, which isn’t a huge amount for a home-office model. But it does also house a separate photo-paper section, so you don’t have to remove the normal A4 sheets of paper when you want to print photos, as you do with some other models.

The 9250′s large control panel and abundance of buttons make it straightforward to use.

The 9250 can be used over USB, Wi-Fi or Ethernet. the latter two options make it easy to share the printer with other computers on your network, and both are pretty straightforward to set up.

Installing the cartridges is also easy. There are just two cartridges, as Kodak combines all the colour inks into a single cartridge. That’s not the best idea in our book, as, if you run down just one colour, you have to replace the whole cartridge. the two cartridges slot into a semi-permanent print head, which then slots into the main print mechanism. once the 9250 has completed printing an alignment page and you’ve loaded the drivers on your computer, you’re good to go.

The integrated scanner is reasonably quick to scan documents and photos, and the results are generally of a good quality. It’s also fast when it comes to photocopying — our black and white test page was completed in just 23 seconds. While copied text looks crisp, though, there’s some banding visible in black areas of the page.

The 9250 supports automatic duplex printing so you can print on both sides of a sheet of paper without having to manually turn it over and feed it back into the printer. But, like the 7250, when printing in duplex mode, the overall print area is reduced. we couldn’t find any solution to this annoying problem.

The 9250 is no speed demon when it comes to printing. our ten-page black and white text document took a rather leisurely 3 minutes and 1 second to complete, while ten copies of our graphics test sheet were similarly slow to emerge, taking 3 minutes and 35 seconds. a ten-page presentation was slower still, at 4 minutes and 23 seconds. the photo-printing speed wasn’t bad, however, at 51 seconds for a 4- by 6-inch print.

Photos look impressive, with little of the stippling that affects the results of some lesser printers. But, although text doesn’t exactly look bad, it’s not as clean as it could be. There’s also some banding visible in colour fills in graphics.

Kodak has managed to keep printing costs to a minimum. At current cartridge prices, a black and white page works out at a very reasonable 2.3p, while a colour page is also cheap, at 4.5p. Both these prices include 0.7p for paper costs.

If you’re willing to sacrifice some speed and print quality for cheaper running costs, the Kodak ESP 9250 is likely to prove a worthy long-term printing partner.

Can someone give me some input on my resume?

***I would really like someone who has experiences with resume or knows a lot about resumes to help me. I really need to get back out there after being a stay-at-home mother and a college student for some time now.

Can someone give me some input on my resume? I am not sure I am doing this correct. I’ve read numerous resume how-to books, but it can be really intimidating to put your work history on paper. I read that I should put my education first, if it’s my strongest selling point, so that’s what I did, hopefully that’s right. And is it okay to add unpaid work experiences, such as family run business? most of my jobs are similar how do I group them up so that it doesn’t take up so much space, because they basically are the same.

This looks good, but rather lengthy. If you have Microsoft Task Launcher, it will give you a resume outline and pointers to kinda organize and clarify what you already have here. good Luck.

It's good.
Pad the objectives with something like:
To make an immediate impact on the speed and efficiency of your company's growth. To asisst and improve upon the quality and competency of the daily functioning of your organization.
Detailed resumes are for government jobs.
Leave out unnecessary information, i.e. Cashier, waitressing.
It has no bearing on the duties of the job you are applying for.
You can always tell them in the interview (although i wouldn't).
Just say motivated, and add in something about being a team player and you're done.
Keep it short, and use spell and grammar check, i've seen resumes thrown out for bad grammar, misspellings, perfumed paper and bad font choices.
Good Luck.

keep it short and sweet with nothing but positives. they will look at your resume for 2 min if you don't impress them, you don't have a good chance at the job.

I have to agree with cadelarge. I recently started working in human resources so I see a ton of resumes everyday. Since you've been out of work for a while, I recommend a funtional resume. I would also suggest putting your education towards the end since you haven't completed it unless it is directly related to the position or you think it will help you get the job. You should also take off HS.

It's always a good idea to tailor your resume to the specific job. find out the duties and qualifications and highlight that in your resume. I would also advise you to highlight your accomplishments on the job as opposed to just stating what you did.

Here are pieces of a functional resume I did after taking a career building class. I used this one to get a promotion in HR. The job posting listed several qualifications so I used those to show my qualifications.

Why do gyms require you to scan your card when you go there?

This didnt ever come to me until I went today. What is the purpose of them scanning your card?

if you could also help me with this question I would really appreciate it!

answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…

How can I get pictures off a memory card to my laptop?

So, my friend lost her USB cord to her camera to upload photos off of it to her computer. she asked me to take it home and get the photos uploaded by putting in the memory card into the laptop, and I followed these steps: went to the start menu, went to control panel, went to scanners and cameras, went to add device, and opened up the installation wizard, but now I'm stuck! It asks me to select a manufacturer and model of the device or if I have an installation disk, click the have disk thing. So help a ***** out.!

Go to Start>My Computer
See if it shows up as a disk drive on your computer. if it does, click on down through the folders and see if you can see the pictures. Copy them over to your (my documents>pictures>new folder)

If that doesn't work, you need to find the manufacturer and model number of the camera, go to the manufacturer's website and dowload the drivers for their camera.

The easiest thing to do is to get a memory card reader at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Office Depot, etc. It should cost about $10 and you will never have to worry about a USB connection to any other camera again.

Well, if it asks you for the disk, then why don't you put it into the computer? That should solve your problem.

If she doesn't have the software disk that came with the camera (or if you don't want to install it onto your computer), then just let her borrow your USB cord. Unless you want to buy a card reader (I'm assuming you don't, though).

Jonathan Brilliant’s cookie fortunes decorate Columbia street corner

Art exhibit brings wisdom, new life to seldom-used space

Sometimes inspiration comes from the smallest, most trite things. except, of course, when it doesn’t.

Such is the principle underlying Columbia artist Jonathan Brilliant’s latest project, “Field of Good Fortune,” which brings six 4-by-12-foot fortune cookie fortunes to the corner of Main and Lady streets.

What began as a means of remembering conversations about art and music and working through a quarter-life crisis and a period of uncertainty following Sept. 11 has since grown into a decade-long practice of collecting fortunes.

Today, a selection of those fortunes stand as imposing works of art that Brilliant says encourage viewers to “struggle as hard as you can for whatever you believe in,” remind them that “the important thing is to express yourself,” teach viewers tidbits of Chinese language and offer their advice on how to play the lottery.

In addition to their nuggets of salient wisdom, these fortunes also show off their own character, as their large-scale replicas still show the food stains, tears and wrinkles.

“For me it was really great that the scanner at Signs Now picked up and maintained the unique textures and surface quality of the fortunes even in the process of printing at large scale,” Brilliant said.

Likewise, perhaps the biggest inspiration Brilliant derives from his fortunes is not the messages themselves but instead how people interact with them.

As he puts it, “Like works of art, they are made out of essentially valueless materials, but we tend to cherish them because of the circumstances we receive them under — as a free gift at the end of a meal.”

Similarly, his “Field of Good Fortune” work, which was funded by the Columbia Design League’s Play With your City initiative and opened on may 20, “will only be complete when viewers are present to enjoy the piece in person” to strike up conversations, reflect on the work and take note of a green space that Brilliant feels goes largely unnoticed by passersby.

“Rather than focus on simply creating a temporary monument or public sculpture, it is my intention to activate a specific space in downtown Columbia” and encourage Columbians to consider it more as a “site where an interesting art experience could happen,” Brilliant said.

In addition to this overarching intent, Brilliant has the more humble and individual goal that his larger-than-life fortunes will “provide a moment of respite and reflection for people in the heart of the capital city.”

Certainly, his is a noble goal, and the sheer size and disproportion of his project relative to its surroundings is sure to turn heads, and hopefully workers, drivers and pedestrians will pause for a moment at the display, which runs until June 20.

Perhaps, though, the true lesson of Brilliant’s work also happens to be his favorite fortune: “Remember to share good fortune as well as bad with your friends.”

Canon Flatbed Scanner Review – Tips for Choosing the Proper Model

Purchasing a scanner can be difficult with all of the options that are on the market. instead of just heading out to a store and selecting one from the inventory, you should consider reading into reviews.

If you are curious about Canon due to their great reputation in the printer industry and the variety of models available, you should look into a Canon flatbed scanner review or two.

Reading into the different pros and cons of model will help you get an idea of what to purchase and which scanners should be avoided. instead of making your purchase on a whim, you can do a bit of basic research until you find something that fits your criteria and is frequently recommended by customers.

The biggest factor for a lot of people when they decide to purchase a new scanner is the cost. if you are feeling limited by the budget you have set for yourself, you should just take the time to see what models are recommended frequently in that price range.

A lot of people will rush out to a store and select a scanner based off of a low price. Shopping around will help give you an idea of the prices and models available, thus allowing you to choose a high quality flatbed scanner without spending more than you are comfortable with.

In order to narrow down all of the options on the market, you should see which ones are the most frequently praised by customers. one of the best models overall, recommended by consumersearch.com and plenty of customers is the Canon CanoScan 9000F.

It is priced pretty reasonably at just $190 and is able to do a fantastic job of scanning documents, photos, slides, and even film negatives. if you are hesitant on spending this amount of money, you should consider a budget friendly model. the Canon CanoScan LiDE 110 is consistently praised by customers, but costs merely $60. this is great news for somebody on a budget.

While it is certainly helpful to read reviews and take the ratings as a whole, you should definitely take the time to read into what customers are saying exactly. By comparing the different comments, you can narrow them all down and find a model fitting yorur needs.

With all of the different scanners on the market, you definitely need to have some different features set in your mind. if you want a model that can handle large sized documents and photographs, you need to keep this in mind while browsing.

Likewise, if you have a need for a high quality color scanner, you should seek this out while checking out the ratings. instead of just opting for the most recommended model, you should select a model that is capable of delivering all the features you want.

If you are trying to track down a Canon scanner that works great and is within your budget, you definitely need to take on reading through reviews. a lot of people overlook this crucial step, but it can lead to an enormous number of options that work great and are in your price range.
