Toaster element "cracking"?

hey,
i was toasting some pop-tarts this morning and noticed that a "crack", in the element is starting to expand. i have a DeLonghi AS40 Alfredo 1400 Watts Toaster Oven, and i was wondering if i needed to replace the element as it looks like its gonna explode. the element is usually red when i heat stuff but the crack is glowing yellow/gold. i was worried as i thought it might blow up my oven haha…well anyways thanks for your replys
the worst that would happen is it will blow a circuit braker..chances are its getting weak and will need replaced..if you cant do it, then take it to a fix-it shop..they really arent that hard to do…
