I'm need to buy a new cookware set and I'm trying to decide between Circulon and Calphalon. a 10 pc. Calphalon set is more expensive than the Circulon. I don't mind paying the difference if it is really worth it. Which is a better quality brand between the two? Thanks!

Over the past several years, I've become really weird about the kinds of bowls and plates I eat out of. I can't eat out of them at my house if they're not China bowls or if they have hard water stains. Honestly, I never eat cereal or spaghetti at home because the plates and bowls smell like wood to me from being in the cabinets. I've gagged every time I've tried. the only time I don't feel uncomfortable is when I'm at a restaurant. You would think it'd be the other way around, but it's not.
I also won't drink out of cups if they're not paper or plastic. if it's at a restaurant, I don't mind though. when I've had to, I barely put my lips around it.
When I was a child, I could eat or drink out of anything with no problem. I could go to other people's houses and do the same, but that's something I worry about having to do now. I seriously dread when someone invites me to have dinner at their house, because I worry about what kinds of plates, bowls, and cups they're gonna have there. if the bowls and plates aren't new, plain, and shiny, and the cups aren't paper or plastic, it makes me gag and it also makes my food taste different.
I really don't like eating off of silver ware either. the thought of how many mouths have been on those forks and spoons makes me sick. if it's at a restaurant though, it doesn't bother me as much. This is why I can only eat off of plastic ware at home.
Here's another thing I'm funny about…my enviornment affects how my food tastes. if I'm in a nice, modern setting, it actually boosts my appetite. if I'm in an outdated setting with a lot of flowers or ruffle curtains or something like that, I lose my appetite.
I just wanna know, is this a disorder? What's it called? This developed when I was like 11 or 12, and I'm 18 now. I really don't like being this way, but I am.
i think your going through something else and trying not to eat off certain things is just coming from that. maybe having trouble with your parents or school, or getting picked on or something and the anxiety is making you obsess over things like that. i dont think you have ocd or anything, just having trouble in some other part of your life.
im not judging you, i have got lot of my own problems, i hope i help. good luck

I used to work in a restaurant in Holland, and the chef often use ammonia to clean the kitchen. I can see that it is an instant solution, yet wonder if it is actually safe. I am not sure whether or not he also use it to clean the kitchen utensils and the pan. So, is it actually safe to use ammonia to clean the kitchen utensils and the pan? and if it is not, what would you do with the utensils that have been contaminated with ammonia – besides throwing it in a bin. many thanks.

We have a set of All-Clad stainless cookware. over the years, a few of the pans have developed stubborn stains on the outside that make them look ugly. (We hang them overhead in our kitchen.)
I've tried many different cleansers and Brillo pads, I even took a dremel to the bottom of one. but nothing seems to remove what appears to be cooked on grease spots
Any suggestions on how to get them shiny again?
Thank you!
I've used Bar Keeper's Friend with pretty good luck. LOL, there's no short cut for elbow grease though.

Titanium is a metal that is used in a variety of products, icluding jewelry, cookware, and golf clubs. Titanium is purified from the mineral titanium dioxide, TiO2(s), in a two way step process:
Step 1; TiO2(s) + 2Cl2(g) + 2C(s) —->TiCl4(g) + 2CO2(g)
Step 2: TiCl4(g) + 2Mg(s)—->Ti(s) + 2MgCl2(s)
How many grams of titanium can be obtained from 1.oo kg of titanium dioxide?
I am not sure cause they only give info on Titanium dioxide mass. PLEASE ANSWER AND EXPLAIN THE STEPS. THANK YOU
