Your Refrigerator. Do you prefer ice trays or a ice maker?

I prefer ice trays. the ice maker makes a mess everytime I try to get ice.

I prefer ice-maker. I hate filling up ice trays and they seem to make such a mess by the time you finally get them into the freezer. Have you tried just using an ice scooper (you can get them at restaurant supply stores). if your dispenser is messy or you don;t have one, this is a simple solution to getting the ice out and neatly into a glass.

Ice maker. It's a pain in the butt to have to constantly break out ice and refill the trays. I have a fridge with an ice maker and the water and ice dispenser in the door. It's sweet.

i like the ice maker…that way i don't have to try to get the ice cubes out of the tray everytime, or worry about refilling them up with water.

Ice maker is quick and easy–you don't have to really do anything. Our ice maker is broken right now, so we have to use ice trays.

Interesting opinion, though.

Ice maker there is something wrong with your ice maker, the cube are to drop in the tray, and you just take out what you want.

Ice trays. They can be thoroughly cleaned much more frequently then an ice maker can be. Therefore they are less likely to be unsanitary.

Ice maker… the stupid ice trays crack and then its hard to get them out and then the ice dumps out on the ground and ugh! they are just stupid. Ice maekers do it all for you!

ice maker it is more convinent
mostly because when it was summer and we did not fill up the ice tray we would not be able 2 watch tv all day if ur in the ghetto and think uu r going 2 get shot when u go outside all u have 2 do is watch tv inside

I really don't know I like both
because the ice maker makes them like every hour but then they're is no ice if its all used up

And the ice trays they're good because they freeze faster but i dont like to keep fillinf them up

ice trays. The ice maker uses water that tastes horrible. at least with trays, you control which water to use.

i like the ice maker on the outside of the fridge..the ones inside take up to much room, and ice trays make the ice take like freezer….

ice trays, ive had a line bust 2 an ice maker before and man what a mess….plus, the kool aid on an ice pick pops for late night cheap munchies cant be made in the ice maker.

Unfortunately, Ice trays!

yeah i agree with you, i use ice trays, i don't even know how to use a ice makers hehe :)

Ice maker. if I have ice trays then I never have ice because I'm too lazy to keep them filled.

Ice maker
Our fridge uses filter water and ice is always available.

am comfortable with ice trays

ice trays. The ice makers go on the fritz.

Ice maker, it would be hell trying to get the cubes out of the tray.

ice trays…my dogs push on the ice maker and get the ice all over the floor

i have ice trays but i prefer ice maker

Ice Maker…

Crushed ice makes me happy.

ICEMAKER!

=]

trays are too much of a hassle.

ice maker
i have an S.O. that would refuse to refill the ice trays….

Give me your TRIED AND TRUE BEST recipe for Macaroni Salad!?

I don't like the gacky stuff at the deli at the grocery store, and the pre-packaged stuff is grosser yet!

Now I want to make a homemade version that is different than what I know.

My recipe is:
1 16 ounce package of salad pasta (shells, elbow macaroni, etc)
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar (apple cider vinegar is okay too)
2 cans of 6 1/2 ounces of white albacore tuna in water, drained and broken into small pieces
1/2 cup each of:
Sweet Red Pepper small diced
Red Onion small diced
Celery small diced
Water Chestnuts small diced
(1/2 cup of small chunked cheese and 1/2 cup of petite peas if desired)
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 1/2 cups of Miracle Whip (or Mayo with 1/8 cup of sugar added and 2 tablespoons of vinegar)
Salt and pepper to taste
Sour cream or half and half to 'wet' the recipe if needed.

Make pasta according to package directions, drain and place in a large mixing bowl. using your hands, splash in and mix the vinegar. Add the remaining ingredients, and with your hands or a spoon if you're squeamish, mix it all together until everything is coated and mixed in. then, place in a serving bowl, cover tightly with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, and overnight is best.

So.. Please! Give it to me! I need Macaroni Salads!!

This is the Classic macaroni salad that I love

Ingredients
1 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 oz. Mueller's elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup chopped sweet red bell pepper
1/4 chopped onion

Method
In a large bowl, stir first 6 ingredients until smooth. Add remaining ingredients; toss to coat well. Cover; chill. makes 5 cups.

Note: Can stir in milk for a creamier salad.

I don't have measurements because I just make it and taste it to see how it is but here goes.

Cooked macaroni
2 hard boiled eggs, diced
dill pickles, diced or dill pickle relish
mayonnaise
mustard
dill pickle juice
salt & pepper to taste

Start out with a spoonful or two of the mayonnaise, squirt in a little mustard and pour in a little dill pickle juice. Stir it all together and taste. if it's too dry add some more mayonnaise and/or dill pickle juice. if it's a little bland add more mustard and salt & pepper. I make potato salad the same way if you ever want to make potato salad. just use cooked, cubed potatoes instead of macaroni.

Why the hell would u put sugar in a salad with tuna and how can you say you hate packaged salad when you are using 'miracle whip'????? Why not use real mayo??!!!!! Im not being horrible im just slightly astounded that's all.
