Man hit by tree improves

A Tuscumbia man injured Wednesday afternoon when a large potion of a tree hit him in the head remains at Huntsville Hospital but is improving.

Rodney Glenn Flack, 42, is in the hospital’s neurological intensive care unit in fair condition, hospital officials said Friday. Flack was listed in critical condition Thursday.

Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said Flack and his brother were cutting a damaged tree limb at a residence on East first Street.

Witnesses said the tree snapped, hitting Flack in the head and knocking him into the street.

A gold wedding band, engagement ring, pair of loop diamond earrings, bracelet and chains were taken from a residence on Frankfort Road, Tuscumbia.

Three diamond rings, two watches, a ring, gold chain, two silver chains, a gold chain with black pendant, a class ring, a pen and pencil set, Liberty dollar and other jewelry were taken from a residence on County Line Road, Leighton.
