I need to use a drill to make stuff with wood and drill holes in a regular wall but will it have enough power to use with a hammer drill attachment? ( used to drill into brick )

The 18 v Lithium Cordless is good. I use mine for everything. I sold Makita Drills for way to many years, and I wouldn't get any other kind available in today's world. Byee ( you can't see the first picture) Go to Makita Power Tools .com , you can check out the different tools, and you can usually get a good deal on kits and discontinued merchandise blow-outs.
I've had a Makita LTX for a couple of years, and it is hands down the best cordless drill I've had.
It replaced a Porter Cable I wore out.
I've used Milwaukee- nice tool but too heavy.
I've also used Rigids, and Dewalts, they're just not as good as the LTX.
What's really cool on the Makita is its 3 speeds, and it doesn't weight too much.
FYI, Milwaukee Tools is now owned by Ryobi Tools.
Bosch… Bosch…. and ummmm…. BOSCH!!! Did I say Bosch? Yep Bosch is where its at. this drill is a little more costley but they are great tools. I stand by them 100%. I have used all kinds from black and decker, dewalt, fire storm, and nothing has stood up to my Bosch. If this is just to use on an occasion and you dont want to spend that much then firestorm is a good DIY drill but if you dont want to have to worry about a tool breaking or dieing out on you get a BOSCH.
DeWalt is all we use…….
lic. gen. contractor
I always buy Dewalt drills. One of our workers had a makita 18v , I don't think it was the lithium one but he had problems with it. Dewalt drills have a lot of power and there pretty much indestructible. they sometimes have trigger problems but they are really good about getting them repaired quickly. The one drill that may be better is the new hitachi. they have a lot of power and they are really light. my brother has one and I really like it. I'm just waiting to see if it lasts as long as the dewalts.
Ever since Black & Decker bought DeWalt, DeWalt has gone to junk. Hitachi, Panasonic, Milwaukee, Rigid and Bosch will all outwork DeWalt any day of the week and still have enough left over for weekend projects.
Go the 18 volt makita lithium, If my drill ever dies, that's what i'll be replacing it with. I have the 18v makita hammer drill with the old nickel cadmium batteries, and it will just about break your wrist when using an augur bit and it grabs on a knot it the wood. The lithiums are supposed to be even more powerful. Also, the makitas have a four pole motor which a lot of other brands do not. The metal gearbox is pretty hard to beat aswell.
