FROSTPROOF | A city employee and five other Frostproof residents have been arrested on charges in connection with the theft of about $1,650 of gasoline through a city account, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.

Public works employee Christopher Vargas, 21, of 108 S.W. Eighth Court, was charged Monday with scheming to defraud, fraudulent use of a credit card, dealing in stolen property, destroying or tampering with evidence and petit theft.

Vargas was fired Monday, immediately after his interview with deputies, said City Manager Tenny R. Croley.

The theft was discovered by city officials because the account with Frostproof Oil Company has security safeguards, Croley said, such as codes assigned to specific city vehicles and mileage listings for those vehicles.

Close monitoring of those safeguards tipped off city staff on June 15, reports said.

According to the investigation, either on or sometime before June 1, Vargas illegally acquired a city gas card. It is unclear how he got the card or evaded the security system.

Reports said he began using the card to fuel his personal vehicle at the Frostproof Oil Company station on County Road 630.

Several other people also used the fuel card numerous times at that station between June 1 and 17, costing the city approximately $1,650, arrest reports said.

Croley said Vargas never had a gas card or city vehicle issued directly to him.

Jerel Lance Crumbly, 33, of 2151 County Road 630 W. he is charged with scheme to defraud, five counts of petit theft, destroying or tampering with evidence, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Jarrod Witt Lee, 25, of 233 Raymond Ave. he is charged with dealing in stolen property and petit theft.

Gary Alexander Pruitt Jr., 26, of 679 keen Road. he is charged with four counts of petit theft and four counts of dealing in stolen property.

Justin Kyle Pruitt, 17, of 202 Brooks Road. he is charged with three counts of petit theft and three counts of dealing in stolen property. Justin is Gary’s younger brother.

Clinton Andrew Underwood, 25, of 792 Fir Ave. he is charged with fraudulent use of credit card, dealing in stolen property, scheme to defraud, destroying or tampering with evidence, and six counts of petit theft.

Vargas, Underwood, Gary Pruitt, Lee, and Crumbley were booked into the Polk County Jail. Justin Pruitt was booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Only left speaker on computer works in headphones on computer?

I just tried to play a dvd in my computer and only the left side will work when I try listening through headphones. I've tried three different pair and it's still the same thing. When I take the headphones out both speakers are working perfectly fine. I've tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it but that didn't help with anything. My headphones and speakers were working perfectly just a few hours ago. What can I do to get them both working on headphones? thanks.

I need help understanding rc controllers and stuff like that?

I need some info on how the radio control stuff works in rc planes and cars. I don't get what 3 or 6 channels is or how you get a servo to do what. Does anyone have any links or books that might help me?

Hope this helps.

The channels operate the different functions. For example, nitro rc cars have no more than 4 channels. One channel for steering, one channel for throttle/brake, and sometimes on monster trucks a reverse shifter. another channel is used for a transponder if you want to take it racing.
Planes and helicopters have lots more channels for all the different yaw, pitch, roll functions.

A servo connects to the different channels. A servo can only move left and right, but depending how you mount it in the car/plane/boat or whatever you can get it to push or pull certain parts. On a nitro rc car it pulls the carb open to give you throttle, and it also pulls the brake pad(s) closer to the disc(s) to stop you.
