Im diabetic and im looking into getting a PDA. I heard that there are softwares you can download to your PDA that allow you to keep a Diabetic Log Book on it. Where can i find that?! thank you!

A lot of your meters come with software like that. I had Freestyle and downloaded my info to my computer. I think that One Touch also has it. Write the companies, they can help you or go to their web sites.

It depends on what type of PDA you are getting. Palm based PDA's have software for that system and Windows Mobile based have them for that system.

Some are pretty sophisticated but I haven't found a PDA version that works directly with a meter – you would have to enter the results yourself.

Several of the Meter manufacturer's have software to download results from the meter to a computer – I have used One Touch's and it is very nice – my Dr. likes the graphs I can print out – some Dr's can accept emailed results I am told.

I would recommend you try to narrow down the PDA you want first then look for logbook software in a site such as Handango under the type of PDA you want.

As an alternative there are meters – the One Touch Ultra Smart is the one I use – which have logging and graphing capabilities built-in. It's not a PDA – but you might prefer to select a PDA that meets your needs and get a glucose meter that can do the logging for you which can download to a pc…. There's no perfect system – good luck with whatever you decide!

I am thinking about gettin the HTC Touch for christmas, but, can it do everything a normal PDA does aswell. eg. run all the software PDA's do etc. Also, doe sit have a memory card slot, to expand the memory some more?

I also own a touch and got it the day it came out. Everything you hear about it is phenomenal, the phone itself, camera, software (Windows Office Mobile), music, videos and pictures. to answer your question, it does exactly what a PDA can do, that's why it's classified as a PDA or PPC (Pocket PC). You can download all applications available for a PPC online, some are free while others you have to pay for. the voice clarity on the phone is awesome, the camera is amazing for a phone and even has a scenic mode where you can take a 180 degree shot of a view/room. It does have a memory card slot hidden under the back case on the side. the Touch comes with and 512mb card but you can buy a up to a 4 gig (cheap on ebay). this phone has been amazing so far, texting is really easy even though some sites say it's horrible. Currently I'm having an issue with new text notification in the settings, it won't vibrate for me, I'm considering getting it check out or even replaced w/ another Touch (since it rules). this phone is definitely a great buy for an iPhone wanter for Sprint but with PDA capabilities.
