I'm going to put a water cooler on my CPU and I was wondering if I can just fill it up with cold water or normal water or do I have to buy special kind of water for it.
add som milk sounds yummyyyyyyyyyyyy
Any sort of cooling application device should be charged with distilled water only. other water will cause calcification.
hi all – im in the market for a new cpu cooler – i have rounded down to te scythe orochi [HUGE cool looking air cooler] and the corsair h50 [entry level, pre built water cooler]. theyre both no muss, no fuss coolers which perform ok and look cool to boot, which of the two would you buy? they cost the same so thats what makes choosing even harder

i have the corsair, very good performance, and its suprisingly quiet
Honestly I wouldn't buy either one. the scythe orochi is just alright and why would you risk a water cooling leak when you can just get an awesome heatsink.
It looks like you're looking for a socket LGA775 cooler so I would recommend getting the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. its the BEST heatsink for that socket (and many others) hands down. anyone with some experience will tell you the same. its a HUGE heatsink and has amazing performance. I painted the fan blades and the 6 heatpipe heads sticking out of the top of the heatsink with some A. C. Ryan UV green. Paired that up with some uv sleeving and uv cathodes and my case looks like its out of a alien mothership.
Pair that fan with some Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound and you'll be set for life.
