TRIPOLI – Reams of confidential documents reveal the mounting desperation and disarray among top leaders of Col. Muammar Qaddafi’s regime as power slipped through their fingers, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The files were discovered in the office of Libya’s spy chief in Tripoli and two other security agencies after the personnel fled their desks as civil war deepened.
The documents expose an ossified culture within Libya’s police state that proved largely incapable of switching gears to fight an actual war. Propaganda skills failed to translate into battlefield analysis, leaving soldiers furious and, in some cases, surprisingly clueless.
In one memo, dated April 26 and found in the now-abandoned office of Libya’s former top spy, a general complains bitterly about the lack of intelligence.
“I received no information from anywhere,” he wrote. “I now think there isn’t any entity at all that has precise or even imprecise information” about the rebels he was being asked to defeat.
Documents from early in the year suggest a casual dismissiveness of the rebellion. One field officer in February — around the start of the crisis — reported to his superiors in Tripoli that the protesters in his city of al Marj were merely local alcoholic troublemakers. a report from Tripoli’s suburb of Tajoura dismissed marchers there as a nuisance akin to “stray dogs.”
Mounting panic led to open bickering and backstabbing. in a may 1 memo, a lieutenant colonel in the Investigations and Surveillance branch ripped into his colleagues, alleging that the department had “become the office of booze, prostitution and theft of detainees’ possessions.”

I'm closing my mortgage office in Oceanside, NY. All my furniture is only 6 months old and of very high quality. I want to recoup as much as I can get. What % of the retail price should I be asking for and how can I get it sold quickly?
I tried a blast fax to other mortgage companies asking for 60% of the retail, but no one has replied. if I don't get at least 50%, I'll just give it to charity and take a write off.
I have 3 executive desks, 4 executive chairs, 5 grey work stations with matching file cabinets, 2 old L shaped workstations, 4 art prints, 29 comdial phones with system, 9 computers with xp professional, an okidata b/w laser printer, 5 black mid back office chairs, a black conference desk with 6 high back vinyl chairs, and a Louie IV cherrywood end table.

on purchasing things that you and your husband are not in agreement with? I would like to buy an office armoire and my husband REFUSES. it is $1000. He is going on a trip that we have known about (I did not object to this…of course, I did not know that it was going to end up being THAT EXPENSIVE)…that will cost us $3000.
How do you compromise on these types of things?
You just need to talk to him about it. some things you can just live without
If you can afford it do both, if you cant, let him go on this trip and after the trip when you can see if the two of you can that office armiore. maybe that will work, that's a good compromise to me.
Sounds to me like you need your own account. Joint accounts always have problems. you want something and you can't get it. That's why you need to open up your own account in your name. So next time you want to buy something, you can just go get it. as long as you don't have your own account he's just going to keep controlling you.
Give River the ten points. He always gives good advise
