Ok, I have plans to rig a speaker box to my PC so I can blast music louder than my dad =]. I know in order to do this I need a separate power output then the audio jack on a PC otherwise there wont be enough power to make the speaker loud enough. My idea is to run a wire from a wall jack and mesh it into the wiring of the speaker that is rigged to plug into my audio jack of my PC.

I know that there are 2 wires in the audio cable and because of that they should mesh together quite perfect. I believe both the PC speakers and the wall outlet are 1 way currents so if I mesh them together, I wont have to worry about the power going DOWN the PC speaker wire and shorting out my PC audio jack or worse.
This is a recipe for disaster. You need either a separate amplifier, or speakers that have a built in amplifier (as most computer speakers do — but it isn't very powerful). use an adapter cable to connect the speaker output on the computer to the RCA Aux In jacks on the amplifier, and connect standard hi-fi speakers to the amplifier.
If you follow through with your plans as described, the very best you can hope for is to blow a fuse or trip a circuit breaker. the likely outcome is that you will fry your PC and your speakers.
Go to the store and buy a powered speaker, please!
If you enjoy fire go ahead with your plan. If you want to blast dad safely you need a booster known as an amplifier. the wiring and power issue you outlined is not safe and it will not work. go to a Best buy or Circut City for advise from the audio guys for the best gear in your price range.
The wall jack has too much power. You'll probably just blow a fuse or fry your computer, if not start a fire.
