VFW given authority over veterans’ section at Oak Grove Cemetery

While Beardstown declined to deed over the veterans’ section of Oak Grove Cemetery to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post, it did reach a compromise that satisfied the group’s goals.

When the VFW Post 1239 requested a couple of months ago that it take control of the veterans’ section of the cemetery, city officials did not initially want to lose total control of city property.

Instead, the post will be given authority over the area and charged with its maintenance after the creation of a new municipal board.

On Tuesday, the city council unanimously approved the establishment of the Veterans Cemetery Board after the proposal was agreed to by the VFW last week.

Mayor Bob Walters said this board will be given authority to set rates for plots and determine qualifications for burial in the area.

The fee per lot was maintained at $400 — the same price for others in the cemetery.

“they would rather keep it cheaper, but to do that it would have to be separated from the city,” Walters said.

In the past the city received $200 of the lot price with the remainder going to the VFW.Commander Justin Savage and fellow VFW members Dale Lovekamp, Lanny Smith, Steve Fischer and Larry Weller were appointed to the board.

Also Tuesday council members approved a donation to the VFW Memorial Flight Fund.

A donation was made last year for the World War II and Korean War veterans to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. This year the post is planning to send Vietnam War veterans to see their memorial as well.

The city will be making the same donation as it did last year which was believed to be about $1,000.

“Whatever we gave them last time we ought to give them again,” Alderman Doug Thurman said.

The city also approved its final payment for the Water Meters & Water Mains project.Reggie Benton, of Benton & Associates, said there could be some additional payments pending some final paperwork, but after approving the final payment of about $482,000 the city has paid off its $4.86 million project.

I don't understand IP addresses. I just went on wikipedia and was told that I had vandalised and article that

I'd never been to. It said that I vandalised it on the 4th of August. then I disconnected from the internet and reconnected and my ip address changed. what it with that? Why would bigpond change it and, if they do, how can authorities track someone using an ip address if it changes all the time?

yes, authorities can track you down using ip addresses, they can find out which ip addresses visited a site, but it is normal that your ip address can change, it is actually set to auto in the U.S

In regards to your second question first, yes, your IP does change frequently if you use dial up and it can change for various reasons if you use cable/dsl, but you still have to provide credentials to the ISP's servers be it a login/password combo or something else. This information, along with the dispensed IP via DHCP, can be logged at the ISP's discretion.

Since your ISP uses a big pool of IPs to serve to clients, chances are you got unlucky and got served one that was marked as vandalizing Wikipedia.

Can a transfer switch be intercepted in the feed to a sub panel without a disconnect not being within sight?

i want to intercept a subpanel with a transfer switch for a generator. the sub panel has a main in it for the branch circuits only. the disconnect for the subpanel is not within sight and more than 50 feet away. i do not want to put another disconnect switch in for the normal power of the transfer switch. can i do this?

Get a transfer switch that detects normal power/emergency power automatically and that's all you need.
If you have a manual over ride transfer switch that will be fine too.
A disconnect box is pointless and is basically just a big on/off switch. It would just cut power off from everything.

Illustration:
[ Power from Street ] —>[existing disconnect] —> [transfer switch] –> [ generator ] —> [Panel / subpanel]

The above illustration if for a whole house example.

This second illustration is for applying to a subpanel with limited about of breakers which sounds like your scenario:
[Main Panel] —> [Transfer Switch] —>[Generator] —> [subpanel]

Sorry, I'd like to help you but your question is too confusing.

The way I read it is, the sub panel main disconnect is near or at the service entrance, which is 50 feet away. That's fine.
You want to put in a transfer switch so you can transfer the power from the service to a generator to feed the panel. nothing wrong with that, so long as you put the transfer switch between the panel disconnect and the panel. Distance does not enter the picture.

I hope that helps.

I can't really determine what your question is. what is intercepted? why would you need a disconnect within sight of the transfer switch? that is a motor circuit rule in the USA. Where are you located? I think you should contact an electrician to come and help you.

The best thing is to contact your building code enforcement department.
