Not everybody needs (or wants) a huge monitor. as a matter of fact, the awesome Acer Aspire 8950G-9839 desktop-replacement laptop I use on a daily basis has a “mere” 18.4-inch display, and I find it more than adequate.
From now until tomorrow, or while supplies last, Dell is offering its own Dell IN1920 18.5-inch LCD monitor for $69.99 shipped (plus sales tax in some states). The monitor is new, not refurbished.
As you might expect at that price point, the IN1920 has few frills. It’s a VGA-only monitor with a 5ms response time and 1,366 x 768 maximum resolution. That’s the equivalent of 720p video if you’re thinking in movie- or TV-viewing terms.
If you’re looking for a primary or secondary (or even tertiary) monitor for a small workspace, this should do nicely. and check out the user reviews: nearly 100 buyers rated the IN1920 4.8 stars out of 5 on average.
Although it’s not listed anywhere on the product page, the monitor comes with a one-year warranty. what do you think: killer deal, or too small a screen for your needs?
Bonus deal: Today only, and while supplies last, Sellout.woot has the refurbished TiVo Premiere DVR for $49.99, plus $5 for shipping. That’s incredibly cheap, but the downside is the $19.99/month subscription charge. at least you get a full one-year warranty, just like with new TiVos.
Bonus deal no. 2: This isn’t very techie, but it’s still too good to pass up: today’s LivingSocial deal gives you a $20 Whole Foods voucher for just $10. (Nepotism alert: that’s my referral link. if you’d rather not use it, just head to the LivingSocial home page.) Free groceries, people! Understandably, the site’s pretty slammed right now, but keep trying.

Stars Guy Pearce directed by Christopher Nolan(The Dark Knight)
