June 14th, 2011 — hard Drives
I have an external Western Digital hard drive. I ran WD DLG dignostic software it reports my drive's Raw read error rate as 1. basically a failure. what could be the cause? how can i fix it?
It is part of RAID-1 arrays. so my data is safe in another drive. so If i format the HD , will it solve the problem?
i also tried different HD repair softwares nothing seems to be working.

Hi! I was looking to purchase a new laptop. Mine's an old 2006 toshiba laptop and I was wanting to upgrade.
An offer of a Dell Vostro 1510 windows 7 ultimate laptop with 3gigs of ram and a 250gb hard-drive. If anyone has this laptop or has tried it. May I get your opinions on any of it's flaws ?
Depends what you use it for. I wouldnt reccomend it for gaming, but for day to day activities and movie watching its fine.
I have a Vostro 1000 from 2007. I installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and it still blows away most new computers that I've used or repaired.
depend on what are you gonna do with it
if you need gaming, search something with ati or nvidia graphic card
if it just for work, you better consider the hardisk size
Its a fine computer, but it depends how much you are spending on it. I wouldn't spend more than $250-$300. After that is when you start getting ripped off.
