Will Windows Media player play HD 1080i videos?

I just bought a Sony HDV camera (HVR-Z7U) but my computer won't play the files unless I am in my editing program. Will Quicktime play them? what players out there support and play HD video? thanks!

What kind of batteries should I use for my Canon Camera?

I would like to know if anyone is having the same problem I am. I have a Canon Power Shot SX100 IS, point and shoot.. and it's having battery issues. are there certain batteries that are better to use for these kinds of cameras? I put the batteries in (Duracell, Energizer, etc.) and take one picture – without flash – and then the camera shuts off and tells me to change the batteries. I know these are fully charged batteries, too. do you think something is wrong with the camera itself? (I got it 2 or 3 Christmas' ago.)

What do you think? New batteries don't work… it's the camera. Canon needs to take a look at it for you.

Is it possible to play every note on a brass instrument within its range?

I read that a brass instrument plays the overtones of the fundamental, then lowers the pitch by a maximum of 6 semitones down by pressing the valves. Since the fundamental and the first overtone is an octave apart, for instance, the lowest C and the next C, the higher C can only be lowered to F sharp. Then how does one play D E and F?

The answer is, you don't, at least from what I know on trumpet.

The lowest note in the overtone series is what's known as a "pedal tone" in brass playing – it can only be reached by manipulating your embouchure and not by fingering. the next note is at the octave (let's stay in C) and as you already know, can be lowered using a 1-2-3 valve combination to get a F#/Gb. That is the lowest fingered note, for instance, on the trumpet. you can sort of "bend" the pitch down to do an F or an E, but it doesn't sound good.

My knowledge in brass playing is a bit fuzzy so if anyone has a correction to this, please don't hesitate to set the record straight.

I honestly could not say, from what I know and have played, you play one or two notes, then you hum the rest of the notes through the instrument
