is there anyway to dispose old zip drive disk other than tearing them apart?
You have to destroy it, there is noway around it. Blender, fire, chipper, anything that will completely destroy the data and make the drive unreadable.
Nobody even has the drives anymore so I say just throw it out
a wood chipper is not only effective but really fun at the same time…

what is the difference between an ide cable and an idc cable??
i am installing a cd burner, a dvd burner, and a zip drive all 40 pin ide but i can't find a 3 device 40 pin cable….but i did find a 3/4/5/ect. device 40 pin idc cable???
can i use an idc cable in place of an ide cable or …what are my options?????
also where can i find this elusive 40 pin ide 3 device cable or an adapter (40 pin male to male) where i can put 2 cables together??
Ide and scsi are completely different incompatible standards.
If the device is scsi, you need a scsi cable and a scsi card.
