Tripod for dslr camera?

Hello
I'm new to photography and i'm looking for a good tripod for my camera (canon 40D) I don't need anything too expensive – more in the range of $100 or less that won't break after a few uses. I'm interested in a tripod that can also support low angle so i've came across these two,
Slik U212 DX:

but i have also read some complaints about loose parts, other than that almost everyone on amazon gave it 5 stars and has bubble level (for those who use tripod, how important is the bubble level feature?)

Velbon Ultra MaxiF:

there's only 7 reviews on amazon so i'm really not sure how good this one is, the snap locks are twists, so as ppl say it won't break as easily (not sure how true that is) it has no bubble level feature but gets as low to the ground as 6.5inches.

Anyone who know about tripods who can give me some suggestions or even recommendations for other tripods that would be great, or even websites that would provide me with more information too =)
thank you everyone in advance!

If you're planning to attach big heavy lenses to your camera while attached to your tripod, then you'll need a heavy tripod for better stability!..

Check out the GorillaPod!

It's made by Joby and it's awesome.
