I need a cost effective burglar alarm system. I rent so I need something I can take with me when I leave. Do I need a monitoring service? Can you have a wireless system with no phone line? Is it better to buy a DIY system online and then purchase monitoring separately?
We had a wireless one when we rented. you don't need a phone line, but you can hook one up that dials your cell phone in case your alarm is going off. I think we got ours at Radio Shack. It was pretty nice and had add-on's that you could include in the system.
I am Australian, and i am coming over to sell security systems with AMP. The systems are made by Honeywell, and the security company who monitors is called Vector.
I don't think you know this…but the truth of the matter is this:
Door to door salesmen in the USA are a thing of the past.
Is is OBSOLETE in terms of sales methods…
Unless you are fund raising for your local school or
non-profit organization.
Now selling security systems here in Dallas, Texas…
-You need a physical place to do business.
-You will need a license and a local tax sales permit to
operate a business in the Dallas County area.
-Need some type of Federal permit/certificate since you are
from out of the United States to be even allowed to sell directly
here in the country.
-Need a good reputation.(VERY IMPORTANT)
-You'll need money to advertise on TV/Radio and local newspapers
to advertise to let people that you are in business, what you offer, etc.
-AGAIN….a good reputation.
Another problem is is are many other types of systems and
companies that have been in business in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas
area for many years [some over ten years]. (I've seen their ads on TV, etc)
As for door-to-door salesman for security systems…
You might as well forget it.
You'll just be walking door-to-door…you would
be very lucky (repeat lucky) to sell even just one system
a week in the Dallas, Texas area…..
