I need some ideas on kitchen paint colors?

my kitchen is small apprx 12×14 there is a small window above the sink that gets a lot of light & 2 others that don't get alot of light. OH! I love tuscany I have alot of pictures of wine bottles & grapes. Help!!

i once picked a peach color from the paint chips and when i painted the room, it turned out bright, Halloween orange! UGH! at the time, i was broke and couldn't afford to buy another gallon of paint so i had to live with it for 2 months.

maybe palest taupe. to avoid what MurrayC went through, it's smart to test on a white board first and if it's not right, in most cases you can mix other colors to correct. white, gray, black are examples. also, in some cases, universal tints are extremely helpful (and convenient) for correction. ask a paint store for the tint section cuz they're usually kept together

I suggest painting it an off-white – something like "neutral ground" by sherwin williams:

That will keep it light, with just a hint of color, and then the wall color won't compete with your Tuscan artwork.

A warm soft yellow or terracotta.

I would say "go with your gut" it's your kitchen and you are the one who really needs to like it. if you like it you will want to spend time in there using it. so, that said, are you an artistic person? Do you have a good sence of balance and color? if you are great….I would say go for whatever seems right to you, even if convention would speak otherwise. if you are not a color person, do you have a friend that is and is willing to come have a look and defer to your preferance and not be really pushy?

If you don't have any of the above, I am assuming the pics you have of the wine bottles are greens golds and blacks? and that the grapes are purple or possibly green? Oh, what color is your sink and refrigerator? Do you have woodwork? What rooms are visable from your kitchen? Maybe a dining room? Do you have a carpet in there? You will have more harmony and such if the color you choose melds into the other colors in your house. so if "Tuscany" is in there too, cool! if not, choose a color both rooms have in common.

Ok, for specific colors. Tuscany is warm and so are the grapes and bottles, also, kitchens are better and more cosy warm. A warm yellow (very happy color) would go well with the purple and the olive green of grape leaves. Check this color with your mouldings and cabinets! if it doesn't go there, it won't matter how good it looks with your decor. if you get the right color match for with your cabinets and such, decos are fairly easy to replace.

after you find what you think will work, you can paint a swatch to see if it "really works" if so, do the whole thing.

hope that helps..
