Hi. Sry. & thx. multiple questions on same topic/need…Going to install a spa w/50 amp load. bought a disconnect box/package from Home Depot. it has a double pole breaker and says "50" on each pole. 1) does this mean it can handle 50 amps TOTAL or 100 amps TOTAL (i.e. 50 plus 50 for each pole switch)? 2) Same concept… at the house breaker box… i need to install a double pole breaker to work w/this spa and disconnect. 3) does this double pole breaker need to say GFCI on it? 4) should this breaker say 50amp on each pole or what number should it have on each pole for this spa/disconnect to be hooked correctly? 5) house breaker box says i need to use same breaker brand (Cutler-Hammer). Is this true because such a double breaker runs $40 and a "none" brand name I can get for only $9. Is there a difference or reason I must use Cutler- Hammer? 6) plan on using thhn, stranded copper, 6AGW, black wire… is this appropriate/good? 7) and taping each end of wire with corresponding colors (red, white, green). Is this acceptable/ok? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP. Respectfully, plz. share your credentials in reply (e.g. licensed electrician, handyman, weekend fix it person. etc.)
C, wow you have a lot of questions. I think I can answer some of them but not all of them definitively–and the reason why is because I'm not familiar with your local building codes, among other unknown variabls. overall, since you apparently just bought this spa, you don't want to void the warranty by accidentally frying it, so I'd seek the assistance of a local electrical contractor to help you out.
Fortunately, there are plenty of local electrical contractors seeking to give free estimates with no obligation, and taking advantage of this is the consumer-smart way to go about finding an accurate answer to your question. It's important that you get a local estimate and not rely on guesses found here on Yah, as a lot of factors really bear on the cost of such a project, including the following: the cost of material and labor greatly varies by location.
As I said, free estimates from local electrical contractors are the key to your success in this home improvement project of yours. Here's a great link to a handyman site that offers free very resourceful information to assist you in your project, and, ultimately, selecting a local electrical contractor in an effort to get the best deal for you:

I'm sure you'll find the information you need, specifically the tips, useful as it relates to being treated fairly by contractors and exploring the consumer-wise approach of getting free written estimates to find the best contractor in your area.

I have 3 spade toggle switches with a POWER, ACC, and GROUND terminals. they have LEDs that are supposed to come on when the switch is on. Now, I have speakers going outside, I can turn them off or on by the switch, I took one wire, cut it at the middle, and put one wire on POWER and the other on ACC, it cuts the circuit and it works, however, the LEDs don't come on at all. how can I make them turn on?
