Can you please help me with these ?'s. I've been looking everywhere and have found nothing so far
1. What are Processor Benchmarks? Please list them and explain the differences .Which processor appears to be faster at graphics processing? Which processor appears to be better at overall processing tasks?
2. Use a search engine on the Web to find benchmark ratings for Intel’s Core Duo processors and one of AMD’s Althon 64 Dual-Core processors. Are the benchmarks different? What would account for the benchmark results?
Example: I'm looking at a computer with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core 1.73ghz processor. does this mean it would effectively be processing at 3.46ghz, or is what you see what you get?
That is the rated speed of PER CORE. So for a dual core, that would be the rating x 2.
Just to avoid confusion though, AMD processors are rated at TOTAL SPEED, meaning all the core speeds added together.
Certain operations will give you close to double speed but it's unlikely you will achieve full double speed due to programming overheads.
Each processor core will to at 1.73ghz. so you will be going at 3.46ghz when both are used.
