Do any of you own a Casio Waveceptor atomic wristwatch? I'm having trouble getting the signal…?

I have recently bought a Casio Waveceptor atomic watch. Daily the watch is supposed to automatically capture a signal from Fort Collins, Colorado to keep the exact time. the radius of the signal is about 2,000 miles and covers the entire continental U.S. it becomes tougher to receive the signal as one moves further from Fort Collins. I live 1600 miles away, and my watch has yet to capture the signal. Do any of you have any suggestions on where I should place the watch to increase my chances at getting the signal? the manual says to place it next to a window, but that doesn't work for me. the buildings in my apartment complex are close together, and there are high tension power lines near me…I especially want to hear from those of you who live far away from Colorado and have had to go through trial and error to get a signal for your Casio watch. any help would be appreciated.

Windows Device Manager says COM port 3 is "in use" if I try to allocate it. How do I find what is using it?

I need to use COM port 3, because I want to use CASIO's PC-UNITE software to download data to my infra-red enabled CASIO watch. This software keeps reverting to COM 3 after the first transfer, which is limiting.

generally com port 3 is occupied by a internal dialup modem..
u can check if it is so by going to device manager and click on properties of modem..
however other hardware can also occupie com 3..

COM ports are serial ports. They are identified on most systems as having 9 pins, commonly referred to as DB-9. Check the back of your tower, what do you have connected? Try unplugging a few things, see if that changes the status in Device Manager. Have you made any recent changes?
