really what i am asking is the difference between having just one video card and having two of the same video card running. in this case, lets use GeForce 260 as an example.
Th performance is only really noticeable when you have 2 or more monitors running. Just buy a better graphics card, it is cheaper.
In short: no.
It truly is. two 9800gts of the 1GB variety. They're cheap now and its more than enough for games these days.
no, not unless you want to be a total geek and invest in something totally useless, i mean 1 gfx card is enough, but if you have the inner urge to be super elite and invest in another $200 gfx card that no one will ever see or care about, then yeah go for it.

Structure and build in the computers are very advanced nowadays. So much are there components like sound cards, video cards and memory cards. Removable storage is capable of storing more than ten gigabyte of data which decades ago can not be achieved by a hard disk drive. Much more advancement is done in personal computers that it become an all in one metamorphosis of entertainment equipment. Flat screen monitor, television tuning capability, sound and music generation, and multimedia recording and playback, what more is there to ask for. Transmitting information is so advanced in speed in internet that makes it the more it the more preferred medium of entertainment today.
Games and gaming has always been a part of human existence, and computer gaming is the most sought of gaming experience by the new generation of techno generation. Sooner or later a serious computer gaming individual will realize that the computer could never catch up with the needs and wants in gaming as the level of gaming software requirements also goes higher along with technology advancement. our previous computer will no longer compatible with the new and complex games that emerges almost everyday. when we feel to upgrade our computer, the software and hardware are not in league.
But there are more things to consider than just purchasing a new set of computer hardware, which costs so much. Computer main board comes with more than one slot and sometimes even with four slots for major components like the video and graphics card for some reason. The CPU could no longer take up the extra loads of operation and processes which a video card will not be able to handle which may lead to a computer crash and the graphics is the main reason for the same.
Check the capacity and properties of your computer mainly the CPU and the main board prior to any upgrade. Verify whether the dual card set-up could be handled by the CPU prior of buying it. The dual set-up is not allowed in certain older models and often the system crashes. rather than a single video card set-up, a dual set-up would process more graphics and video instructions. Loads are taken away from the CPU by this set-up hence preventing overloading and overheating. But a dual video card set-up will surely produce heat in dual proportions too, so make sure that your set-up will leave a lot of ventilation space for your computer to prevent it from overheating and crashing.
A dual video card set-up would cost you more but will give you more benefits and more enjoyable video experience out of your PC. Clearer, crispier, smoother videos and video gaming experience are given to you by the dual video set-up soits worth having.
