Can I use a Kingston Technology 1GB memory that was used on a previous computer for about 8 months on a different pc? I bought a 1gb memory card for and older pc that I was using and now i swithced to a different pc… can I switch the it out? does it affect performace the fact that it was used for about 8 months?

Used memory won't work slower.
The only thing you have to check is compatibility, there are several different kinds of memory modules.
Use the website below to check if both systems use the same type of memory (DDR, DDR2).

Speed is another thing.
If your memory module is faster than your PC, then it's okay.
If it's slower, then it might not work, but it's worth to try. You won't break anything. it will either boot or not. (Having more memory is better anyway).

If you can't find any information then you can simple try to put it in. if it was inserted without any force, then it probably will be working fine.

It depends if it's the same slot. and and what speed the memory is at. if it's slower than the one you have right now, then it will slow down the speed of the memory but you will have more RAM.

Good luck!

yes you can as long as its the same dimm

What can I do with the usb slot option on my PS2? may I save memory card information to it from my computer?

You can use a USB for things like headsets, (I have one for my coaching game) and alternate gaming devices such as keyboards, etc.

As far as transferring files to or from a computer I think it would depend on the format of the files, (I never have been able to find a way anyhow)

Hope that helps!
