My laptop screen changes when I use my HDMI cable but this time didn't change back!?

I use my HDMI cord to view my PC games on my TV. the display on my laptop usually changes – everything gets larger like the magnifier is on (lettering, icons, tool bars, alerts) – but returns to normal upon restart. For some reason I can't get it to change back this time. I've checked my display settings and the magnifier is OFF. OS is MS Vista. I've restarted twice. How do I change this back to normal?
Your help is appreciated!

the input from your tv to the pc uses energy from the tv to get in the the pc and effects the vdu (visual display unit) therefore if you change your colour settings on your pc and lower it it should worked becuase there is toooo much ppppoooowwwer coming through from the tv to the pc thats y. so try that just change the colour to lower and the brightness it should work or if your tv is hdmi then you need another cable which is hdmi

Anyone have experience using a TV magnifier?

Do they really work for someone losing their sight? my mom is having problems reading the smaller letters on her current 19" TV screen and want to know if a magnifier is the answer over buying a larger TV. Is the picture really clear and undistorted as the ads claim?

What shops in London are likely to stock hand-held magnifiers?

Maplins, they do them, if you use the branch on the Tottenham Court Road, there's loads of other shops that should have them.

BTW My eyesight is pony, and I've found a USB microscope for my PC is really handy, I use it to read impossibly small print and to take pictures of small items to be sold on eBay.

Possibly one of the stamp shops on the Strand
