RJ11 is a telephone wire where RJ45 is basicly an ethernet cable. 45 is about twice the size of 11. Basicly
An RJ11 connector has 4 connectors and an RJ45 has 8. RJ11 is a wall jack for your phone typically (Unless you have an older PBX or Electronic phone system) and RJ45 is for networks and Electronic phone systems that have multiple lines and require electronic switching.
You're cable which connect your home phone to the phone jack is the RJ-11. RJ-11 is smaller than RJ-45 and used in DSL connectivity. It has 2 or 4 pins, depends on the cable it is.
RJ-45 is used for networking, printer sharing, and file sharing. It has 8 pins, and much bigger than RJ-11.
