Why is water dripping out my my ceiling AC ducts?

I have a separate heating system (steam radiators) and a central AC unit. The air handler part is mounted up in my attic. Since we turned off the AC and turned on the heat my wife has noticed that there is water dripping out of several of the ceiling mounted AC air outlet grills. all the duct work is also in the attic but is all insulated. Why is water condensing and dripping out and how can I stop it? it is an unfinished cold attic and the air delivery ducts are round if that makes a difference. all the duct work is overhead so we can finish the attic if we wanted to and the delivery duct work runs down along the inside of the roof and then through the floors to the main floor below near the outside walls. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

If the grills are metal there is a chance that it is cool and the warm moist air in the house is hitting it and it is just sweating if you will. one way to fix it is to replace them with plastic ones. The plastic will not conduct the temperature change so much and will not cause the condensation problem.

How Much would it cost?

Approximately how much would typical bills for this place cost?

There is no real way to answer this question. It all depends on the cost of utilities in the area, how efficient the fixtures are, and how frugal you are on using utilities. A lot of times you can contact the utility companies and they will give you the billing history for the address you are looking at to get an idea of cost.

Has anyone seen a bathroom towel rail/shelf that doesn't require drilling?

I looked through many bathroom accessories shops and all of them only sold towel rails/shelves that require holes to be drilled and screws to be inserted into the wall to hold the rail/shelf firmly onto the wall.

I have seen small towel rails that uses only suction pads to stick to the wall. but has anyone actually seen/or are using those aluminium rail/shelves that does does not require any drilling of holes? ie: the structure is attached to the wall using either suction pads or stick on hooks.

Thanks.

My experience with suction cup pads has been horrible. I have never had any that actually hold up anything. I have used some stick on hooks that hold fairly well, but they tear off paint and/or wallpaper when removed. the best rod I found for holding things without drilling was a magnetic one, but you have to have a magnetic surface to use it…so that would probably be a downside in a bathroom. My only advice would be to talk to someone at a home improvement store/warehouse and see if they have any good suggestions for you.
