Can you interpret this dream?

i was riding a rickety antique bicycle down a grassy road. i was going to my son's home. (note: my son lives in town not in the woods).
anyway, i have tall grass on either side and suddenly there is an open place and i see my son's small brick home in the corner of the lot. there is an empty clothes line. as i approach the yard, the brakes are not working on the bike and i am headed straight for the clothes line. as i get near the clothes line my bike falls to pieces. i get up and notice my son isn't home. it becomes dark and there is lightening in front of me and a cliff behind me. i'm yelling there is a God and he is real. i yell this over and over.

Did you know there is a category for dream interpretation?

There is no offense intended by the way. I'm just trying to help.

Umm do u already believe in god?

could mean nothing…maybe just thoughts ur having and ur not addressing them?

(( i have no idea but im trying))

The light is very good in dream it mean u find the truth & leave the wrong believe to strong & right belive.

Does your son believe in God? If not, maybe you feel that he's not listeneing to you (not home) when you talk about God.

I'm picking up that you are probably insane.

Too much Yahoo Answers R&S. You're debating the existence of god in your sleep, that can't be a good thing.

It kind of seems like you're trying to convince yourself there's a God. Maybe when tragedy strikes, you have the tendency to question God's reality or his goodness.

The brakes going out could be that life is out of control, the empty house could be the things that were taken from you. I find it interesting that you were heading toward the clothes line when the bike broke apart…it's as if you were saved from harm by this brokenness. the cliff could represent being so distraught that you want to end things…but you're still trying to cling to hope that God is real and He'll restore your life.

So basically, your dream starts off with things whole and breaks apart, leaving things empty…and that's when you say God is real. Could be a metaphor for your life. Brokenness causing questions or doubt.

I will try…..of course without knowing you, your son, or your relationship, I could be WAY off, but here it goes….
The bike, being your transportation (your way TO your son) was not the best means to get to him….also, it was rickety, so I say that you have some concerns that there is distance between you and your communication or connection is not what you would like. you feel at a disadvantage for helping him. also, it was in the country (when he really lives intown?) I'd say you feel separated in some way.
The tall grass might indicate borders….IE guidelines in your relationship? like limits? do you feel that there are limitations or boundaries that you don't like in the relationship?
Small brick home…..does he really have a brick home? A brick house may indicate a solid and strong foundation, like he is all set, doesn't really need you? but you want to help. Placed in the corner may indicate a secure, protected position.
A clothesline could mean a couple of things, but for me, it is a sign of normal functioning. Clothes on the line would mean to me that he's taking care of business. No clothes on the line would mean to me that something is amiss (our perception) is his life….not taking care of business.
Brakes not working is a sign of loss of control. It's scary. Is something out of control with him? or, do you feel that you can't control something with him?
The bike falling to pieces might indicate either your communication (or connection to him) is not what it should be (falling apart?) or, might indicate that something with YOU is falling apart. Empty nest?
Your son was not home. perhaps indicates that he is not available to you?
The lightning and cliff are confusing….what do they mean to you? I would think that they represent a scary choice or decision….Not really much choice there (lightning or a cliff), so I suspect something is coming to a head.
The issue about God, again, very personal to your situation, so you will have to figure that out. If your son is having an issue with religion, perhaps you are trying to guide him. If not, maybe you are calling on God to help you.
This is an interesting dream. I hope you will post more info or if it makes any more sense to you.

What type of mortar do I use for a wood fireplace brick?

The fireplace is over 80 years old and the mortar between the bricks is missing or crumbling. I know portland cement based mortars will crumble in time as well but I can't find a suitable mortar. The gaps in the brick are at least 1/4 inch thick by several inches deep so refractory cements don't work. Also, I would like the final joint to be buff colored like the firebricks. Thanks in advance for the help.

most fire brick are just stacked and in boilers we use a retort cement made for high temptures
check at a place that sells fire places or look up retort cement

If you mean a wood burning brick fire place then you should use a normal brick mortar. First you must color it using the colors available at home center stores. You will have to experiment to get the correct color. The best way is to measure your amounts of color and mortar then double triple ,etc to get to the quantity you need. do not mix more than you can use up before it hardens. The way to keep the mortar from crumbling quick (it will all crumble after a long enough time) is to use a latex based additive along with the water. This will be in the flooring department near the mortar and grouts. A quick and less messy way is to buy colored sanded, grout and mix with water (most have a latex additive). The best method of use is mix only what you can use before it sets, add enough water to the dry mix until it is the consistency of peanut butter (not Crunchy), let the mix stand for about 5 minutes then mix again and it is ready to apply. You will need rubber gloves,a tuck pointing trowel and a mixing trowel. A warning- do not pour the remains of the mortar mix or the water from cleaning the bucket and tools in your drain. If you need specific instructions, ask.
